OUR FOUNDER
When Suzanne Mooney moved to Malaysia in 2014, she got involved in charity work and saw how some people lived. What was apparent to her was the lack of food. “Every time we asked, ‘How can we help you more?’, the one answer was always food,” she says. With that and the knowledge that an enormous amount of food is thrown away every day, Suzanne set about creating The Lost Food Project to bridge the hunger gap.
TLFP COMMITTEE AND GM
The Lost Food Project Committee is a group of dedicated volunteers with management experience across a variety of industries as well as a passion for reducing food waste and eliminating hunger.
VOLUNTEERS
Did we mention how much we love our volunteers? Well, we do!
TLFP is almost entirely operated by volunteers made up of a group of professional and dedicated individuals that we simply can’t do without.
Teachers, lawyers, CEOs, project managers, accountants, mums, dads, administrators, photographers, students – the list goes on. More than 70 volunteers help TLFP run effectively and efficiently.
CORPORATE FOOD HEROES
Today’s heroes never work alone. It takes a village to run this organisation and The Lost Food Project relies heavily on the generosity and commitment of its corporate partners who are some of our most important food heroes.
FOOD DONORS
With the cooperation and support of our food donors, The Lost Food Project is able to rescue tons of surplus food and other products from landfill and pass these on to our charity partners and Malaysia’s urban poor families, so the their precious funds can be used for other important resources like education and health.
CHARITY PARTNERS
The Lost Food Project rescues over 10 tonnes of surplus food each week and distributes this quality surplus food to over 55 charity partners. The Lost Food Project is dedicated to finding ‘lost food’ a new home with those in Malaysia who need it most.
DONATE
Donation of food and money keep The Lost Food Project running. Donate to a cause that feeds thousands everyday.
FUNDRAISE
There are many creative ways that you could raise money to help The Lost Food Project continue our important work.
